David Queen 

David is a Scottish-born  metal sculptor who has lived and worked in the UK, Amsterdam, New Orleans, the far east and now Western North Carolina. With over 40 years experience in the oil and gas industry including roles as a metallurgist and welding engineer with a major oil company, David turned his hand to metal sculpture to fulfil a long held ambition to explore the creative side and artistic potential of the materials he had long worked with in an engineering environment.

Educated in Glasgow Scotland and becoming a Chartered Engineer and Snr. Member of the UK’s Welding Institute David is well versed in metal properties and fabrication technology. Over the past 5 years David’s artistic talents in blacksmithing and sculpture have developed through training at Leitrim Sculpture Centre in Ireland, John C Campbell Folk School  and Penland School of Crafts, both of  North Carolina.
